    Monet-esque

This isn't a painting. It's a photograph of a reflection that I took at a close friend's place in New Hampshire. The river was still, but had just enough movement to create a beautiful water color effect. Once again, this was right there in front of me, and all I had to do was pay attention. Thankfully, I do that so much more these days.

Prometheus Knew What He Was Doing

Fire can warm your heart and it can burn you to death. It can cook your food and it can cook you. Fire is a mighty tool and a catastrophically destructive weapon. It's a best friend and an arch nemesis. Fire is one of the most beautiful spectacles in nature and a ghastly nightmare. Much like everything powerful that burns within us. The choice in how we use it and how we see it is ours.

    Blue Flame

Mid November here on cape cod, and we've still got trees on fire.

The Moon Woke Me Up This Morning

At about 3:30 AM, I opened my eyes. Something bright had shone into my bedroom window. Something bright enough to wake me up. It took me a moment to realize that the screaming orange globe hanging just above the horizon was the moon. Did anybody else happen to catch the moon just before it set? I watched it for the next half hour until it disappeared. I couldn't take my eyes off of it.
I didn't get a picture of the moon this morning, but the experience inspired me to share a sunrise photo I took three years ago. Moonset. Sunset. Moonrise. Sunrise. I've been lucky enough to catch thousands of them.

    The Other Bird

I don't know if this is the same Raptor that was featured in my post of October 27. This one looks larger, appears to have different markings, and he's wet. That could mean that he went fishing, which I don't think Red Tail Hawks do. Anybody out there who can enlighten me here, please comment. Either way, I'm honored and excited to share my property with these fantastic creatures.
